Cartridge heaters are an all-around heating elements used widely in numerous industries. They are known for their slim profiles, easy temperature regulation, and efficiency. Cartridge heaters outer sheath is made up of a cylindrical stainless-steel, brass or incoloy casing with a heating element usually of nichrome wire inside it and with ceramic insulation all around it.
Heating element made of high resistance nichrome alloy wire wound into a coil which generates high when eclectrical current passes through it. This coil is embedded in ceramic insulators inserted inside outer sheath tube with magnesium oxide(MGO) powder which helps in maximizing heat transfer.
